GIORGETTI ARRIVES IN NEW YORK
For the 2015 edition of ICFF which is held in New York from 16th to 19th May, Giorgetti chooses Madison Avenue for its presentation in the Big Apple: a corner of Italian production on one of the most important streets in New York City. Giorgetti is at the DDC Design Post showroom, considered – more than a furniture store – an art gallery on the 34th Street. Fine materials for the high quality furniture which is concentrated in small settings and cover an area of about 300 sq.m. The neutral colours are those typical of Giorgetti: soft shades that colour the five areas with candour in a crossroads of geometries. The eye-catching window displays complete the high quality furnishings with unique pieces of an eclectic design.
The purity of the four-poster bed Ira dominates the centre and takes on a plucky character with the armchair Hug and the asymmetrical chest of drawers Eon. The New York store is like a place of culture and design where architects, buyers, developers and private clients can find inspiration for the design of their own homes or offices. A sort of “shop in shop” conceived so that it is a very recognizable place where the Giorgetti name can already be perceived in the atmosphere that exalts the beauty of the lines and materials characterizing the pieces on display. The bond between Giorgetti and the United States goes back many years: it was one of the first Italian furniture companies, as early as the 1920s, to have commercial relations with America, where it exported “frames” for chairs and beds which reproduced the styles in fashion at the time.
